Hungarian foreign minister: Nice attack confirms need for fight against terrorism

Ulaanbaatar, July 15 (MTI) – The Bastille Day terrorist attack in Nice confirms the need to step up joint efforts to fight terrorism, the Hungarian foreign minister said on Friday.

Hungary’s foreign ministry strongly condemns the attack, Péter Szijjártó told MTI on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Hungary is making every effort to contribute to the international fight against terrorism, Szijjártó said, adding that he stated Hungary’s support for France to the French delegation attending ASEM.

Szijjártó confirmed that the foreign ministry so far knows only of one Hungarian woman who was slightly injured in the attack but said the ministry’s consular service is constantly monitoring the situation in France.

At least 84 people were killed and 18 critically wounded in Nice on Thursday evening after a truck drove into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day.

  1. The reply from the foreign Ministry to the Nice, France tragedy sounds very nice.
However, I would like to know more about what the Ferihegy Airport’s Authorities and their Check Points would be doing to screen the travelers before they get on any of the airplanes?
I would like to be sure that after the plane took off from Budapest that it would safely land in Toronto, Canada, but not before it were blown out of the sky by an insane terrorist or more than one!
