Public Service University rector Patyi tenders resignation

András Patyi, the rector of the National University of Public Service (Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem – NKE), has tendered his resignation and will quit his post on Aug. 31, the university said on Wednesday.

Patyi, who has headed the university since January 2012, tendered his resignation at a supervisory board meeting last Friday, according to the university’s website.

The supervisory board accepted Patyi’s decision and backed a selection process for his replacement.

Patyi, who was re-elected by the university’s senate for a second term in the autumn of 2016, will continue to teach at the university.

It is up to President János Áder to formally relieve Patyi of his post.
