The weirdest things lost on Hungarian public transport vehicles in 2019
The word which best describes the lost properties Hungarian passengers left on public vehicles this year is the word unbelievable. Besides the sometimes forgotten objects like a wallet, bag or luggage these were the weirdest things found after the passenger left the vehicle.
BKK reported that on some vehicles barrows and even microwaves were found in this year – wrote Pénzcentrum. The official transportation company of the capital also found several cell phones, official documents, bags, shoes, clothes, keys, rollers, bicycles and skateboards. These objects were usually found on buses, trams and undergrounds. The weirdest objects found were notebooks and musical instruments in some underground lines of the city.
Several wallets were found and taken to the lost-and-found. Approximately in this year, 1,525,500 HUF were left on vehicles (4,481 EUR). The most amount of money found was 305,000 HUF (895 EUR).
MÁV also reported some usual and weird lost properties of this year. The classic ones are clothes, wallets, bags, suitcases, umbrellas, electronic devices (cell phones, notebooks, cameras). Among the bigger objects, musical instruments (guitars, cellos), baby carriages and bicycles were found.
The most shocking thing MÁV found was a welder-machine.
On the vehicles of Volánbusz 650 lost objects were found and 70% of them got back to their owners. Approximately 192,000 HUF was lost on buses (564 EUR) and several other currencies were found, like EUR, CZK, CHF, and RSD. The most common objects found were bags and official documents.
