Excitingly, the pizza place is expected to launch home delivery services soon. Here’s what you need to know about this new addition to Budapest’s culinary scene.
Delicious flavours and a welcoming atmosphere at Budapest’s newest pizza place
According to turizmus.com, Chef Lázár Kovács has opened a new pizza place at the foot of Budapest’s picturesque Sváb Hill, situated within the Jókai Club, a cultural hub in the city’s 12th district. The club, which had been closed for several years, has now been revitalised.
Chef Lázár devised a renovation and operational concept aimed at rejuvenating the club’s gastronomic offerings. As a result, the Jókai Club can now host a variety of social events and programmes for both locals and visitors. The latter is especially significant, given that Normafa, one of Budapest’s popular green retreats, is just a short walk away from this new pizza place. We explored the legend of Normafa in THIS article.
P7 Pizza & Mantaro Café aspires to provide a space with a relaxed ambience and exquisite cuisine. The building is versatile, accommodating a theatre, a restaurant, a garden, and a terrace, making it ideal for various events.
Thematic festivals, family gatherings, and business events
The pizza place’s name derived from a 7th place at the 2022 Pizza World Championships in Parma, acquired by a team of Lázár Kovács and László Damu. You can taste a modified version of their pizza at P7. What’s more, the new restaurant is dog-friendly. The café’s name is inspired by the 7th place finish achieved by Lázár Kovács and László Damu at the 2022 Pizza World Championships in Parma. Visitors can now savour a refined version of their award-winning pizza at P7. Additionally, not only diners but also dogs are welcomed at this new pizza place.
The venue can be booked for business functions or family gatherings, where guests can enjoy gourmet menus crafted by Chef Lázár. The chef also plans to host thematic festivals with the Jókai Club team in the gastro garden, featuring music, dance, and culinary experiences.
The first of these events is the Septemberfest, which will be held from 13 to 15 September, organised in collaboration with a local Swabian association. The festival will feature Swabian, Bavarian, and Irish folk music, dance lessons, and a variety of delicious sausages and beers. Entry is free.
