Prepare for peculiar weather in Hungary this week – forecast

This week will continue the milder-than-average weather, but expect mostly grey, misty and frequently foggy conditions, with some light drizzle in places. Temperatures will peak at around 10°C during the early part of the week, before the daytime warmth eases off, dropping to just 1–5°C by Sunday’s warmest hours, according to forecasts from HungaroMet Ltd, shared with MTI on Sunday.

Fog, mist, light rain

Monday will be predominantly overcast or cloudy, with mist and fog lingering in some areas. Light drizzle can be expected, particularly in the northwest, where some gentle rain may also occur. Southerly to south-westerly winds will be mostly light, with only a few breezy gusts here and there. Daytime highs will generally range between 6 and 9°C, the Hungarian News Agency reported.

On Tuesday morning, it will remain mostly cloudy with patches of fog, though the cloud cover will thin somewhat during the day, improving visibility — except in the east, where the skies will stay overcast. Light rain is possible near the north-eastern border, and the breeze will remain gentle. Minimum temperatures will hover between 0 and 6°C, with daytime highs mostly from 8 to 13°C, a little cooler in the northeast.

By early Wednesday, cloud cover will increase again, and fog may form in places. Although fog will not clear everywhere during the day, the cloudiness will lessen over a wider area, and precipitation is not expected. Winds will stay moderate, with overnight lows generally from -1 to 4°C and daytime highs mostly between 8 and 13°C. Persistently foggy areas will feel chillier.
