US Ambassador Pressman’s possible successor lashes out: “Please stop this nonsense”
The current US ambassador was recalled due to the election but has not stopped criticising the Hungarian government. One of the possible next US ambassadors, Bryan E. Leib, sent a clear message to his predecessor.
The Biden administration’s mission in Hungary is about to expire for David Pressman, who has had numerous conflicts with the Hungarian government. The ambassador has been outspoken and blunt in his criticism of Orbán. These criticisms included the excellent relationship with aggressor Russia, Beijing’s main alliance with Budapest in the EU, and the obstruction of arms aid for Ukraine’s defence.
In his latest X post, Pressman wrote:
Returned to Memento Park today – each time I have visited, from the mid-90s to today, I am struck not only by the mementos of authoritarianism it presents but by its stark reminder of what it takes to stand up for dignity and democracy and the unstoppable spirit of Hungarians to be free from tyranny and corruption.
Leib critics
The succession is unclear, but according to government press reports, Republican politician Bryan E. Leib will replace Pressman as ambassador to Budapest. The former US candidate, foreign policy analyst, and senior fellow at the Center for Fundamental Rights most recently spoke officially at the Pro Israel conference in Budapest on 1 October and met with Hungarian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Péter Sztáray.
Leib has responded to Pressman’s criticisms on several occasions recently, and has now sent him a new message regarding his post on Memento Park:
The Hungarians have already been freed from tyranny. David, please stop this nonsense. You have done a lot of damage to the US-Hungarian relationship, but we will make it right on 20 January 2025,” Leib wrote.

In a recent interview with The European Conservative, he said, “Pressman’s behaviour was excessively unprofessional and he has shamed us as Americans. Please allow me to apologise for this behaviour on behalf of the American people. He was simply an activist, not a diplomat.”
And back in November, Lieb said on Kossuth Radio:
“When we look at the impact of the last election, of course the main beneficiaries of President Trump’s return to the White House will be the American people, but our allies around the world will also benefit, while our enemies will be filled with fear of what is to come. When people ask me which countries stand to benefit most from another 4 years of President Trump, I always answer Israel and Hungary. And as we have already alluded to, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has done a wonderful job of building a European conservative movement of like-minded friends and allies. I also believe that this is a special opportunity for the Hungarian Prime Minister to become a major point of reference in the political landscape in Europe. He will certainly enjoy the unfailing support of President-elect Trump. I think that the next four years will be really serious and exciting for the US-Hungarian alliance. For example, I would like to see direct flights between the two countries, and maybe we can achieve that.”

Other potential candidates for the ambassadorship to Budapest, besides Lieb, include Nancy Brinker and David Cornstein, the first ambassador under the Trump administration.

Pressman, from marking him, under the word CANDOUR, passed “with honours” in his ambassadorship role, in representation for and on behalf of , the Government and the people of the United States of America.
The “Toxic Cultures” of the “Heinous” led Government of Hungary, under the Prime Ministership of Victor Mihaly. Orban – his Fidesz Government, what they THREW at Pressman – his “personal ” life, and position he held, to his CREDIT, and rightly, through TRUTH and Facts – “slung it” all back, that just kept building on FACTUALLY it being exposed, the wrongfulness, the corruptness, depth of it, practiced by Victor Mihaly. Orban and his Fidesz Government.
Truth HURTS – and Pressman by Truth & Facts – drew EXPOSING deeper the Toxic Cultures in the Core, the CREEDS – of the Orban – Fidesz Government.

It “jumps” out the characteristics that he is a very RUBBERY individual.
He is a Trump “sicko” – a “gofer” – that will not question the Trump nor Republican “jargon” – he is TOLD, by the “letter of the word” – TALK.
Statements wrongfully coming out of him, stating, that Hungarians have Freedom and Liberty, have NO restriction on there lives, that Hungary, is Governed as a DEMOCRACY just dangerously and IDIOTICALLY wrong.
Hungarians – this platform been used various times in the past, commentating, to have a CLOSE examination of CONSCIENCE – asking as a starting question, my life, how am I travelling ?
Move on, asking the country – how’s it TRAVELLING ?
Then Family, children, grand-children – what’s the PROSPECTS for them ?
Then from a Career postion – what’s my FUTURE ?
Moving on – in retirement, what WILL I have ?
In the examination of one’s CONSCIENCE – that Hungarians – in there millions, still need to GET there Heads around and factually Do It – quality of LIFE – must be in BRIGHT Lights – in the undertaking, by Hungarians – in a Conscience Examination.
We KNOW – The Propaganda machine of the Orban – led Fidesz Government, that has been labelled, the “Lieing Machine”.
We can expect, as it will be same coming out of the United States of America – the Trump administration “Propaganda” machine, in his Foreign Policy’s .
Find time – MAKE time Hungarians – suggest and lend a hand in ASSISTING those of an incapable intellectual capacity / level, and EXAMINE your CONSCIENCE.
Conscience EXAMINATION somewhat conclude it with ;
(1) – have I personally been FAILED – by the Orban – Fidesz Government ?
and Secondly ;
(2) – my country Hungary – have we been FAILED – that our FUTURES personally and of our country – its present SHAMBOLIC Mess – that is “imaging” – being one of IMPLODING and in CHAOS ?

As a Hungarian born, naturalized Ameican, I am in total agreement with words and sentiment expressed by Mr. Lieb as they represent the true thoughts and hopes of us expats in the USA ! We look forward to the partnership of these two truly great leaders…Trump and Orban.
If you an American citizen, you are no longer a Hungarian ‘expat’, but responsible in upholding the values of both US/Hungarian citizens, states and liberal democracy, not divisive suboptimal leaders nor their cults.
Goodbye, Press-brat, and may the door hit you in the a.. your way out, and hard, the little wannabe viceroy.
Imagine being an ambassador to a sovereign European country and you spend your time not just criticizing that country’s legitimate, democratically-elected government, but persistently supporting and being pictured with the foreign-funded opposition as well as demanding the implementation of policies explicitly rejected by that country’s voters.
Good riddance.
This proposed new Ambassador is already compromised if ‘a senior fellow at the government linked Center for Fundamental Rights’?
Further, whose interests will he be promoting while working for the US government; US citizens or Hungary, Netanyahu, Trump et al.?
Although the chaos amongst Republicans in Congress, vetting and approving Trump and Musk’s nominees, is not and will not be smooth, nor guaranteed.
Regardless of the endless attacks on him, Ambassador Pressman spoke truth to power while always respecting the enduring alliance between the U.S. and Hungary.
God is good and pressman is gone. Hungary never deserved such a Hungarian people hating ambassador. Pressman’s only goal was to allow brainwashing and mutilation of children’s bodies to suit his LGBT philosophies. Once more Hungarians can sing “happy days are here again”.
Thank you Mr. Trump for sending Hungary a qualified, open-minded Ambassador.
Did anyone pay attension in 2014 when the US and anbassador in Ukraine pushing how the elected leader had to go because of democracy and how corrupt the government was. Its interesting the US ambasador went on to testify to impeach trump because he dare question what has been going on. This while the Biden family was in charge of the country and on the take for money.
