US state dept agrees to provide financial support for CEU
Budapest (MTI) – US representatives and the Budapest-headquartered Central European University signed a financial support agreement on Monday.
The American embassy in Budapest said in a statement that the state department had agreed to provide 30,000 dollars towards the establishment of the CEU’s Sustainable University Network (SUN), which seeks to promote the development of leadership skills for future Hungarian leaders in civil engagement, as well as popularising the training in sustainable development.
Logan Strenchock, who is responsible for the CEU’s sustainable development programme, said undergraduate clubs at several Hungarian universities were engaged with the topic, and the SUN would coordinate and stimulate coordination between these groups.
