Valley of Arts festival in Hungary to feature nearly 3,000 events
The 33rd Valley of Arts (Művészetek Völgye) festival in western Hungary will feature a record number of events, almost 3,000 in all, between 19 and 28 July, the organisers said on Thursday.

The programme including 2,972 music, literature, theatre and dance performances, as well as family and other events at 40 venues will be held in the villages of Kapolcs, Vigántpetend and Taliándörögd, festival director Natália Oszkó-Jakab told a press conference.
Several museums will be represented at this year’s festival with a greater focus on contemporary art, she said.
Tibor Navracsics, the minister of public administration and regional development, said that over the years the Valley of Arts had become a part of the region’s economy, and by strengthening local communities, the entire region, its economy and the whole of Hungarian culture were enriched.
Maintaining the momentum gained from last year’s Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture series, the aim was to develop a region of creative activities in which the Valley of Arts festival played an important role, he added.
