Depeche Mode’s concert in Budapest will start at 7.15 PM today in the Puskás Aréna. But the band already arrived in Budapest yesterday, so fans tried everything to reach them for a selfie or a video. Hotel staff even shared details about their special wishes during their stay in Hungary.

According to Blikk, a Hungarian tabloid, Budapest’s 5-star Ritz-Carlton hotel houses Depeche Mode during their stay in Hungary. That will not be too long, since they are to perform in Prague this Sunday at 3 PM. Here is a video of their arrival in Budapest:

Depeche Mode arrived in Hungary after six years. They are on a European tour again and will hold a concert in Budapest’s Puskás Aréna this afternoon. Blikk said that some fans spotted Martin Gore and Dave Gahan yesterday afternoon, but later they vanished inside the hotel. In the evening, the luckiest ones could meet the band’s manager and one of their bodyguards. However, you could meet Martin Gore in the city since he went for a walk to discover the beautiful Hungarian capital. Below, you may check out a fan-made video. Blikk acquired some information about the band’s special wishes, the so-called ‘rider’ prior to their concert. But the hotel crew said they did not ask for impossible favours. For example, Dave Gahan wants everything to be painted black since that is his favourite colour. He likes to withdraw before each show. Therefore, he requires a private changing room. It has to be comfortable with black walls and curtains. And it has to exclude all external lighting. Dave says darkness inspires him.

Furthermore, Dave Gahan eats only dishes made of bio ingredients prepared by his chef. He buys all he needs to make a delicious meal on the spot. Therefore, Dave will eat foods made of ingredients grown in Hungary. Martin Gore also tastes local flavours and prefers a comfortable changing room with warm colours, plants and some candles. They also want a separate room with TV, internet, coffee table and a fridge loaded with local beers. Furthermore, they also like to go on a sightseeing tour before each show, during which somebody talks to them about the main sights of each city.

The last time they performed in Hungary was in 2017.
