Vodafone customers in Hungary: prepare for an important change – video

Vodafone customers in Hungary should prepare for an important change regarding their mobile data. According to Vodafone Hungary, around two thirds of customers using tariff plans that do not include unlimited internet do not fully use up their mobile internet allowance.

Changes in the Go tarrif packages

In response to this market situation, the telecoms company is renewing its Go tariff packages. They will allow customers to roll over unused data to the next month, Vodafone announced in Budapest on Wednesday.

The company has informed Portfolio that two thirds of its customers who do not have unlimited data do not consume the data included in their tariff plans. This phenomenon can be solved by the operator’s Go tariff packages with rollable data allowance.

Customers using these tariff packages can roll over the unused data allowance until the end of the month to the next month. In a unique innovation on the Hungarian market, the unused data purchased by customers will not be lost, but can be used the following month.

As Portfolio learned, “rolling” will start automatically if at least 1 megabyte of the data included in the tariff has been used. So the remaining data will automatically be carried over to the next billing period without any action on the part of the subscriber. The operator pointed out that rolling only works for cards that are actively used.

Changes in the RED tarrif plans

Unlimited RED tariff plans are also being renewed: customers can share 5GB or 10GB of data per month with another family member, depending on the tariff plan, free of charge, thus adding to the data allowance of their partner or child.

Vodafone Hungary celebrated the introduction of so-called rollable data with a special event on 5 April. The service provider’s employees set a world record on roller skates in the courtyard of the Budapest ONE office building, where the company is based.
