Von der Leyen: Vaccine by the end of the year, Hungarian measurements observed by the EU carefully
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen reported that the vaccine for the coronavirus would be ready by the end of 2020. In a recent interview for a German newspaper, Von der Leyen added that due to the sudden and unexpected measurements the Hungarian Government had in the past years, the EU pays close attention to the happenings in Hungary.
24. hu reported that research started worldwide for the production of the vaccine which cures the coronavirus but three of these, which are the most promising ones, are in the EU. According to the research teams, the clinical tests will start shortly followed by more steps until the permission to begin producing the vaccine. The EU Commission already began negotiating with possible companies.
Leyen stated that hopefully, the vaccine would be in our hands by the end of 2020.
The EU executive head also reported that the measurements introduced to slow down the spreading of the epidemic would be eased shortly and very carefully. For this step, the EU worked on a program which will be introduced soon. The exact period and date are not included as every state is in a different situation. A joint decision would not be rational, as the coronavirus-situation is entirely different in Milan than in Münster, for example.
Each region has the independence to return to normal life carefully and slowly. In Denmark, schools and kindergartens will be reopened and scientists will examine the effects the reopenings have on the virus and report them to other countries.
The EU Commission observes each EU state and the measurements introduced. These measurements need to be democratic, carefully and planned. Furthermore, it needs to have an estimated time limit and observation from the government and local authorities.
On the other hand, the EU Commission mentioned Hungary’s threatening legal proceedings and their new laws to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Von der Leyen said the EU was ready to act if the restrictions go beyond what is allowed due to the measurements of the Hungarian Government in the past few years.

OPEN MESSAGE TO EUROPEAN COMMISSION PRESIDENT URSULA VON DER LEYEN :
Dear Madame President,
Thank you for pointing out to us Hungarians that ‘the E.U. pays close attention to the happenings in Hungary’.
We are honoured to be in the continual focus of your attention.
How unfortunate it is though that the E.U. has so few other actions to offer Hungary – and the rest of Europe – in these very difficult times.
Obviously the technocrats in Brussels find the stress of continually watching / criticising Hungary so mentally and physically EXHAUSTING that they are unable to fulfil the functions for which they are (obscenely) overpaid.
