Weather forecast – first week of the year comes with wind, clouds and rain

For the last day of this year and the first week of the next, the weather seems to bring clouds, winds and rain, occasionally mixed in with some snow. It will get gradually colder as the week progresses, with the temperature staying below zero towards the weekend.

Monday

At the beginning of the day, the layer of clouds is expected to clear up a bit, and we will see the sun. Later on, rain mixed with some snow is expected, especially in the East but most probably in the West, too. The winds will pick up and can be really strong in some places. By the evening, however, both the wind and the rainy snow will calm down. During the day, the temperature will be between 2 and 6 degrees while during the night, the temperature will be between -2 and +3 degrees.

Tuesday

On the first day of the year, the weather will be mostly dry. In the morning, there will be some clouds, but they will not block the sun completely. Later on in the day, a thicker layer of clouds will form, starting from the north, and the evening will bring a mixture of snow and rain in most parts of the country. Temperatures will be between -2 and -7 degrees at night and between +1 and +6 during the day.

Wednesday

In the morning, the layer of clouds is expected to clear up, and even though the clouds will move about significantly, we will probably get some sunshine, especially in the middle part of the country. Some places can expect some sleet which could later turn into snow. The winds will also pick up, bringing storms to some places. The temperature will be between +2 and -3 degrees at night and between 2 and 7 degrees during the day.
