Weekend of Horror in Hungary: two accidents left three innocent people dead
Last weekend might be the saddest and most gruesome weekend of the month in Hungary. Two accidents happened with three immediate victims, and a footballer also lost his life unexpectedly.
The tragic death of Szabolcs Udvari
Szabolcs Udvari, 46, a former first-class footballer, passed away tragically and unexpectedly. The fantastic footballer from Szeged had been very successful and had been a member of a plethora of football teams in Hungary and had been playing at Kaposvölgye VSC as a defender since 2007. According to Délmagyar, he unexpectedly passed away before his time.
Woman at the steering wheel tried to overtake; two dead, five injured
Two people died and five were injured in an accident at Main Road 8, near Városlőd, the spokesman of the Veszprém County Police Headquarters informed MTI about the accident.
Three passenger cars and a truck crashed in an accident on Saturday, and, according to the information of RTL News, a middle-aged woman and a young man lost their lives in the multi-vehicle accident, Blikk wrote.
RTL News said that a woman driving with her two children in the back of the car tried to overtake a large truck but was unaware of the traffic in the other lane. The driver of the first car in the other lane was able to evade collision, but the small truck behind it frontally crashed with the mother’s car. As the two cars crashed, due to the high force of the collision, the mother’s car hit another vehicle in the lane.
According to the channel’s information, the man, 31, who was driving the small truck, and the woman in her 50s, driving the other car behind it, died at the scene. The ambulance that arrived at the scene found five other people injured, and they were taken to the hospital with the help of a rescue helicopter.
Pedestrian hit by a car in Budapest
On 25 September, at 20 minutes past 10 pm, a pedestrian was hit by a car at Hungária Avenue. According to the information of the Police, the man tried to cross a pedestrian crossing despite the red light when a driver hit him. The 36-year-old man suffered major injuries and succumbed to them at the scene. The police are conducting an investigation with the help of specialists.
