Here’s when Hungary’s oil deliveries could resume after Ukrainian drone strike

With repair work ongoing in Russia, there is a good chance that crude oil deliveries to Hungary can resume on Friday after Wednesday’s Ukrainian drone strike, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook on Thursday.

Following a phone call with Russia’s Deputy Minister of Energy, Szijjártó said he reviewed the situation with Pavel Sorokin after Ukraine repeatedly attacked the crude oil delivery route to Hungary the previous day, according to a statement by his ministry.

“He told me that repair work is in progress so there is a good chance that crude oil deliveries to Hungary can resume on Friday,” the minister said.

“At the same time, let me make it clear once again: Hungary’s energy security is a matter of sovereignty, so whoever attacks our energy security is actually attacking our sovereignty,” Szijjártó said.
