Winter Food Fest – New street food festival in Budapest!

For the first time this year, Winter Food Fest awaits visitors with a pleasant festive atmosphere and a wide variety of international street food and sweet Hungarian specialties.

„Christmas calories don’t count!” – says the announcement of Budapest’s new street food event, Winter Food Fest,

inviting us to a culinary adventure from 26th November to 3rd January.

The gastronomic festival takes place in Budapest’s city center, Deák Ferenc Square. At the event, visitors can enjoy a wintery festive atmosphere while tasting the best Hungarian and international food specialties.

While you are sipping your mulled wine or punch, you can taste the following national and international culinary specialties provided by Mazel Tov, Tereza, or 101 Bistro.

Mexican hot dishes

If you fancy hot and spicy Mexican dishes, you can taste the fried tomato soup, the pulled pork quesadilla, or the unmissable chili con carne. The Mexican gastronomic specialties are served by La Cabina Restaurant.

Specialties of Marocco and the Middle East

Mazel Tov brought a little piece of the Middle East along with some Moroccan specialties to the Winter Food Fest. Here, you can choose among vegan lentil cream juices, Moroccan harira ragu soups with lamb meat, or classic Reuben sandwiches.

The best street food with smoky meat

In addition, you should not miss the irresistible offer at Smoke Riders either. Their menu includes juicy torn meat sandwiches made of beef or young pork as well as cheese fries drizzled with warm creamy cheese sauce.

Taiwanese specialties

The Taiwanese cuisine is represented by the 101 Bistro at the Winter Food Fest. Their heartwarming savoury beef noodles come with juicy-sided lamien pasta but you can also try the golden kimchi and the onsen egg chili dishes.

Hungarian chimney cakes

On the dessert front, you can taste the typical Hungarian chimney cakes made by using an old family recipe. As the Hungarian news portal Turizmus reports,

the freshly developed stuffed pistachio cream chimney can also be tasted at this year’s Winter Food Fest in Budapest.

The festival is open from Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 to 22:00 and on Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 to 00:00.
