Winter is back in Hungary: Cooling arrives on the weekend and overnight frosts return

A cooling trend is expected to arrive this weekend in Hungary, with peak temperatures remaining below 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday and the return of overnight frosts. On Friday, there may be strong wind gusts in some places, but no significant precipitation is expected.
On Friday, fog and low clouds formed during the night will dissipate in most areas, and cloud cover will decrease from the northwest, allowing the sun to shine over larger areas. However, the eastern and southern regions may remain cloudier, and cloud cover may increase again from the west in the evening, met.hu reports.
Precipitation is unlikely, with only light rain possible in the east and drizzle or freezing drizzle in foggy areas. The initially southwesterly wind will turn to northwesterly or westerly in increasingly larger areas, picking up in North Transdanubia and the central part of Hungary, occasionally accompanied by strong gusts. Peak temperatures are expected to range between 8 and 13 degrees Celsius.
Saturday will likely see sunny weather in the northeastern half of Hungary, while the southwestern part will be partly to mostly cloudy, with no precipitation expected. The northeasterly to northerly wind will remain mostly moderate. Minimum temperatures are generally expected to be between -4 and +2 degrees Celsius, with peak temperatures ranging from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, the sky will generally be partly cloudy, with possible longer periods of overcast conditions in the northeast. A weak precipitation zone may arrive over the northern counties, bringing mixed precipitation to North Transdanubia and mainly light snowfall to the North Hungarian Mountains and the Northern Great Plain. The northerly wind may pick up in a few places. The lowest nighttime temperatures are expected to be between -4 and +1 degrees Celsius, with peak temperatures likely ranging from 4 to 9 degrees Celsius.
