Attention: Wizz Air shakes up important Budapest route with airport change

Wizz Air is changing the airport for its Budapest–Bucharest route starting 30 March 2025. Instead of landing at Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni, OTP), flights will now operate through Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (Băneasa, BBU).

The daily flight W6 3292 will depart Budapest at 19:50 and arrive in Băneasa at 22:15 local time, AIRportal.hu reports. The return flight, W6 3291, will leave Bucharest at 23:00 and land in Budapest at 23:30. The route will be operated by Wizz Air’s Airbus A321neo aircraft, with a flight duration of approximately 1.5 hours.

In other news, Wizz is launching a new route from Cluj-Napoca to Castellón de la Plana, Spain, starting 11 April, Maszol writes. Initially, flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, switching to Tuesdays and Saturdays from 16 June. Tickets are available from RON 99 (EUR 19.99) on the airline’s website and app.
