Wizz Air launches flights to Baden-Baden, Nice
Budapest, March 12 (MTI) – Hungarian low-fare airline Wizz Air on Friday launched new Budapest-Baden-Baden and Budapest-Nice flights.
Wizz Air will operate both flights twice a week, on Monday and Friday.
Speaking at a press conference for the flight launches, French Ambassador Eric Fournier said France does not view Wizz Air and Air France’s flights to France as competing but rather as complementary services which can increase the country’s passenger traffic.
Fournier said France expects to see even more Hungarians travelling to France in the summer during the 2016 UEFA European Championship, which Hungary will also be competing in.
Balázs Bogáts, head of airline business development at Budapest Airport, said the airport had long been pushing for a flight to southern France, as passenger traffic between the region and Budapest has always been strong with 15,000 to 16,000 people travelling between the two destinations annually.
