Wizz Air launches WIZZ Class: a low-cost alternative to business class on selected routes

Wizz Air has unveiled WIZZ Class, a new optional service aimed at passengers who want more personal space and added comfort without paying traditional business-class prices.

The new product will be available from January, 2026 on selected flights to and from Budapest, as well as routes serving Bucharest Otopeni, Warsaw, London Luton, London Gatwick, and Rome Fiumicino.

What is WIZZ Class?

WIZZ Class is designed for cost-conscious travellers, including business passengers, who value privacy, speed, and extra space, but prefer to fly low-cost.

Passengers choosing WIZZ Class will be seated in the first row, which already offers extra legroom, and one of the adjacent middle seats (1B or 1E) will be blocked and reserved exclusively for them, Breaking Travel News said. This provides significantly more personal space while remaining within Wizz Air’s single-class cabin layout.

What does the service include?

WIZZ Class is available as an add-on during the booking process, on the seat selection page, and can be purchased alongside Smart and Plus bundles.

The service includes:

  • Extra personal space by blocking the adjacent middle seat
  • Priority boarding, including a 10 kg carry-on suitcase
  • A complimentary non-alcoholic drink and snack during the flight

Why is Wizz Air introducing this now?

“Business travel is growing across our network, and we’ve listened to what our passengers want,” said Silvia Mosquera, Commercial Officer at Wizz Air.

“They want a bit more space and speed, but they don’t want to pay legacy airline prices for business class. WIZZ Class answers that demand — offering passengers the room they crave and the service they deserve, without compromising our simple, convenient model. We remain committed to operating a single-class cabin in line with our efficiency targets.”

How is this different from traditional business class?

Unlike traditional business-class products, WIZZ Class does not require any costly cabin modifications. Instead, comfort is increased by reserving two middle seats, allowing passengers to stretch out or work more comfortably, while maintaining Wizz Air’s high-efficiency aircraft layout.

This approach allows the airline to offer a “low-cost business-style experience” without abandoning its core low-fares model.

What does this mean for passengers flying from Hungary?

For travellers departing from Budapest, WIZZ Class offers a new middle ground between standard economy seating and expensive business-class tickets — particularly attractive for short-haul business trips, frequent flyers, and passengers who value extra space and priority services.

The rollout marks a notable shift in how low-cost airlines are adapting to changing passenger expectations, especially as business and hybrid travel continues to grow across Europe.
