A world-class equestrian center will be built at Hortobágy National Park; the preparations have already begun announced the Minister of Agriculture at the 50th Hortobágy Equestrian Days opening ceremony on Saturday.
Sándor Fazekas indicated that his department works with Hortobágy National Park (HNP) and Hortobágy Nature Conservation and Gene Preservation Non-profit Ltd. to turn the already functional equestrian base in Hortobágy-Máta into a world-class equestrian center.
Mayor of Debrecen László Papp in his opening speech pointed out that Hortobágy has an essential role to play in the preservation of national values.
Famous Hungarian Nonius Horse herds roam freely in Hortobágy
The head of Hortobágyi Nonprofit Kft Managing Director Gergely Medgyesi pointed out that this year’s celebration was especially noteworthy because 200 years ago “Nonius” horse breeding – which is a wholly Hungarian breed – started.
