Tragedy: Young man dies after assault at Budapest nightclub

A young man has died after being violently assaulted at a nightclub in Budapest’s 5th District on Saturday night, according to information released by the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK).

Police received an emergency call at 22:39 reporting that a man had been attacked inside a downtown entertainment venue. Officers arrived within minutes and found the victim, reported to be 25 years old, in a critical condition, requiring immediate resuscitation. They began life-saving efforts on the spot, which were then taken over by paramedics.
The man was transported to hospital, but despite extensive medical intervention, he later succumbed to his injuries.
28-year-old man detained just minutes later
According to police, officers at the scene detained a 28-year-old man at 22:45, just six minutes after the initial alert. The suspect was taken into custody and questioned in connection with the case.
The BRFK Homicide Department has launched an investigation into bodily harm resulting in death, a serious criminal offence under Hungarian law. Police say the suspect’s formal interrogation and the clarification of the circumstances are currently underway.
Authorities have not yet released further details about what led to the attack or whether the individuals involved knew each other.

In its statement, Morrison’s 2 said the tragedy unfolded extremely quickly. According to the venue, two men began arguing at around 22:30, shortly before the emergency call. During the confrontation, one of the men struck the other once with his bare hand. The victim fell to the ground and hit his head, causing the fatal injury.
The nightclub emphasised that no weapon was involved and that the incident happened so rapidly that staff had no opportunity to intervene. Paramedics transported the victim to hospital, but his life could not be saved.
