Tax authority accuses 75 of large-scale fraud
National tax authority NAV has proposed raising charges against 75 people believed to have defrauded the central budget of 2.2 billion forints (EUR 5.5m) by evading various taxes, a NAV spokesperson said on Thursday.
According to NAV, a group of 140 firms, brokering cleaning and security services, failed to pay taxes and contributions after their employees, and violated VAT regulations.
In the investigation, NAV officers visited nearly 300 sites, and seized properties and cars worth a combined 1.5 billion forints.
The suspects have also paid back a total 150 million forints to the central budget, NAV said.
