1.19 EUR/l fuel price will end soon in Hungary!
Hungarian private individuals and foreign customers with Hungarian licence plates may purchase fuel for the HUF 480 (EUR 1.19) per litre fixed price until 1 October. The market price in Hungary is currently HUF 720 per litre (EUR 1.79), based on Cargopedia.
István Hollik, the communications director of Fidesz, talked about the fuel price cap introduced by the government this March to public broadcaster Kossuth Rádió. He said the Hungarian natural gas storage facilities were 30 percent full. Meanwhile, the European average is 18 percent, portfolio.hu reported.
He added that the HUF 480 per litre fuel price cap is due until 1 October. That is because the government did not change that. Provided Hungary’s economy makes it possible, the government would have to fight to sustain the fuel price cap scheme even after October, Hollik added.
The communications director highlighted that the fuel price cape saves HUF 21,000 (EUR 52) for an average Hungarian family each month.
