10th Art Market Budapest to present 70 exhibitors from 20 countries
The 10th Art Market Budapest international art fair will this year feature over 70 exhibitors from 20 countries between October 22 and 25 in the Millenaris centre and park, the event’s founder and director said on Wednesday.
The focus will be on contemporary Hungarian artwork with titles by Imre Bak, László Fehér, Dóra Mauer, Tibor Hajas, Imre Bukta, Péter Korniss and Tamás Konok, Attila Ledényi told a press conference.
As regards the international art scene, one of the galleries will present works by Bulgarian-born French artist Christo, famous for his monumental environmental art, who deceased earlier this year, Ledényi said. He added that
central and eastern Europe’s leading international art fair has been organised in cooperation with the CAFe Budapest contemporary art festival.
Coinciding with the Art Market, the annual festival dubbed Budapest Art Week will be held between October 16 and 25 and its programmes will include exhibitions, guided tours of art shows and city tours, visits to artist studios and other events. The organisers said that this year’s Budapest Art Week will be record long and special attention would be placed on attracting families and young adults.
