197 deaths, 8,370 new infections over weekend

Altogether 197 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the weekend, while 8,370 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

So far 6,394,379 people have received a first jab, while 6,168,926 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,809,703 Hungarians have received a booster shot.

The number of active infections stands at 154,752, while hospitals are treating 3,615 Covid-19 patients, 132 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 1,787,544 have been registered with the virus, while 43,949 deaths have been recorded. Fully 1,588,843 people have made a recovery.
