Honouring 1956 and 70 years of diplomacy: This is how 23 October was celebrated in Jakarta

The Embassy of Hungary in Jakarta hosted a National Day Reception on 21 October to commemorate the heroes of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The event also celebrated the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Indonesia, highlighting the enduring friendship and cooperation shared by the two nations.
H.E. Ms. Lilla Karsay, Ambassador of Hungary, addressed the gathering by underscoring the dynamic political, economic, educational, and cultural partnerships that continue to strengthen bilateral ties. The Indonesian side expressed appreciation for Hungary’s consistent engagement, noting the growing collaboration across various sectors, including politics, economy, and sports.
Guests at the Jakarta reception enjoyed an authentic taste of Hungary, savouring classic dishes such as goulash soup, chicken paprikash, and stuffed cabbage, followed by the iconic Dobos cake, complemented by quality Hungarian wines. The evening was marked by warm hospitality and mutual celebration, reflecting seven decades of friendship and shared achievements between Hungary and Indonesia.
