270 titles to compete at 2nd Hungarian Film Week
Budapest, February 29 (MTI) – A total of 270 titles will compete to win prizes in six categories at the 2nd Hungarian Film Week beginning on Tuesday, the organisers said on Monday.
The awarding ceremony for best feature-length, short, television, documentary, educational and animated film will be held on March 6, they said.
Organised in a partnership of the Hungarian National Film Fund, media authority NMHH and the Hungarian Film Academy, the film week will show outside competition Laszlo Nemes’s multi-award winning Holocaust drama “Son of Saul” which has just won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in Los Angeles.
The film week will pay tribute to Hungarian-born American cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, who died at the age of 85 on January 1. He won an Oscar for his achievements on Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1977.
