Hungary’s economy minister visits Huawei, BYD in Shenzhen
Budapest, January 18 (MTI) – Economy Minister Mihály Varga underscored Hungary’s objective to become a regional hub for digital technological development during visits to major Chinese tech companies in Shenzhen.
Several Chinese companies have expressed interest in working with Hungarian partners in the areas of e-mobility, intelligent transport systems, autonomous vehicles and the development of smart cities, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Huawei said it would take part in background work related to a new project to build a test track for autonomous vehicles in Zalaegerszeg, in western Hungary.
BYD wants to build its first European electric bus plant in Komarom, in northern Hungary.
“More and more investments are paving the way for new dynamic Chinese developments in Hungary,” Varga told his partners.
