Luke Evans at the Budapest premiere of Beauty and the Beast – VIDEO
The long-awaited latest remake of the classic tale, Beauty and the Beast, finally arrived to the cinemas and some Hungarians were lucky enough to have Gaston, that is, Luke Evans at the premiere.
Luke Evans, playing Gaston in the 2017 film version of Beauty and the Beast, surprised the fans eagerly waiting for the film to start at the IMAX room of Aréna Pláza in Budapest, by actually appearing at the premiere, writes hvg.hu.
Unlike his character, trying to win the heart of Belle (Emma Watson) in unpleasant ways, Evans made a really good impression and he even sang a bit to the spectators (see the vid below). The film scored the sixth best opening weekend of all times in America by grossing 174 million USD.
The surprise guest of the premiere currently shoots a series in Budapest called The Alienist, based on the book of Caleb Carr. Aside Evans, Dakota Fanning and Daniel Brühl are starring in the project, while the crew of writers includes Cary Joji Fukunaga and Hossein Amini.
According to his Instagram, the travelling Welshman really got fond of Hungary and Budapest, for he keeps posting about his adventures in the city: since his arrival he visited the Opera, the Citadel, had sketching lessons and even put on our national cockade on March 15, paying respect to the heroes of 1848-49.
