LEGO producing in Nyíregyháza also increasing profit
The company made a record income during its 85 years of operation in 2016. The Hungarian factory also played a part in this success, according to Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu.
LEGO Manufacturing Ltd. managed to increase its net income by 11 percent and its profit by 13 percent during last year, as the subsidiary company in Nyíregyháza told MTI.
The factory operating in the county seat in Nyírség increased its income from 96.6 million euros to 107.2 million in 2016.
According to the global data of LEGO group, the net income increased by 6 percent during last year. It went up from 35.8 billion DKK to 37.9 billion in one year.
The Danish company introduced 335 new products in 2016. They also invested 2.9 billion DKK into real estate and the improvement of production capacity, including the construction of a new factory in China.
Among the special products, it is worth to mention the one meter long space shuttle consisting of 1969 pieces. It models the Saturn V rocket that transported the first men to the Moon.
Lego is currently witnessing a new golden age: the company received the title of the world’s most powerful brand in 2015, replacing the former ‘champion’ Ferrari. It owns licenses to many popular brands, like Star Wars, Marvel’s Avengers, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. The popularity of LEGO is even enhanced by several video games related to Lego and the recent release of The Lego Batman Movie.
The most expensive products in the collection cost between 1300 and 1620 euros. One of the most precious constructions is the Death Star: the Galactic Emprie’s iconic destroyer from Star Wars, worth approximately 1529 euros.
LEGO group had 17,294 employees by the end of 2015; 1760 new employees joined the company last year.
