Orban hails Belgrade-Budapest EU-China cooperation on rail link
Belgrade, December 17 (MTI) – The agreement signed concerning the construction of a rail link between Belgrade and Budapest represents a signal moment in cooperation between the European Union and China, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Wednesday.
The agreement was signed by the prime ministers of Hungary, Serbia, China and Macedonia.
The rail link will enable Hungary to take advantage of its good location, Orban said.
“In the past, Hungary’s location has mostly resulted in various armies passing through, and now we feel that history is taking a positive turn because goods will be passing through and a railway line will cross Hungary,” he said.
