Hungary’s home building permits up 40 pc in the first half of 2017
Home building permits issued in Hungary in the first half of 2017 jumped 40 percent to 19,823 from the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.
The number of permits issued in Budapest more than doubled to 8,378.
The number of completed homes increased by 46 percent to 5,004 during the period. Of these, 981 were in Budapest and 1,507 in cities with county seat status.
The number of homes built by natural persons and companies matched during the period. Detached, single-family homes accounted for 46 percent of the total. The average size of the completed homes was 95 square metres.
