Russian cultural festival in Budapest
Budapest (MTI) – A Russian Cultural Festival featuring concerts, theatre and dance performances will be held in Budapest between March 19 and April 3, the organisers said on Wednesday.
The festival will open with a photo exhibition presenting Russian architecture and cultural heritage sites in the Russian Cultural Centre on Andrassy Avenue on Thursday evening.
On March 26, the Terem-Quartett from Saint Petersburg will give a concert reciting from its repertoire of 500 classical pieces.
In the Palace of Arts, a group of students from leading Russian music schools will perform pieces by Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Aleksander Zarzycki, Sergei Vasilenko and Georgy Vasilyevich Sviridov on March 29.
The Alexandrinsky Theatre of Saint Petersburg will present Gogol’s play Marriage on March 28 and 29, marking the author’s 200th birth anniversary.
