Belgian exhibition marks WWI centenary in Szekesfehervar
Budapest (MTI) – An exhibition marking the centenary of the first world war, organised by Belgium’s institute of war veterans, opened in central Hungary’s Szekesfehervar on Tuesday.
Belgian ambassador Johan Indekeu said in his opening address that the display focuses on the terrible developments of the world war, that fundamentally changed the lives of people. He said he hoped the exhibition could help understand those events and prevent them from happening again.
The travelling exhibition has so far been staged in five cities in Hungary, including Budapest. The display is planned to go to Ljubljana and Bucharest next.
