Heat record broke on Sunday again in Hungary

According to Index.hu, on the night from Saturday to Sunday, in Hungary, temperature exceeded 10 °C. Therefore, the daily heat record at dawn broke again, as the National Meteorology Service announced.

So far on this day, 9.9 °C was the mildest temperature, recorded in Pápa in 1994. But now, in Dunaújváros,

the air only cooled down to 10.2 degrees, becoming the new peak of minimum temperature on the 7th of January.

The National Meteorology Service claimed that the daily heat record was also broken, 17.7 degrees were recorded in Mohács. So far the absolute highest temperature was recorded in Kiskunmajsa, where the mercury in the thermometer reached 17.6 °C.

On Saturday, the heat record at dawn and the daily heat record were also broken. So far, 16.7 °C were the highest on this day, which was recorded in Sopron in 1975.

This year, a temperature of about 17 degrees was recorded in several locations. The highest number was recorded in Babócsa of Somogy county: 17.4 °C.

On the night from Friday to Saturday, the record of the highest minimum temperature was also broken. So far, the mildest night was in 1988, in Nagykanizsa, where thermometers showed 8.3 degrees. This year in Kaposvár, temperature only eased to 9.9 degrees.
