Wizz Air celebrates its Austrian Base at Vienna
Wizz Air, one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines and the leading low-cost carrier in CEE, opens its Austrian base at Vienna Airport with one of its new Airbus A320 aircraft. The new allocated aircraft will support the start of operations of five new services from Vienna to the popular destinations: Valencia, Rome Fiumicino, Malta, Bari and Tel Aviv.
To celebrate these important milestone, WIZZ is announcing a Special Seat Sale to its Vienna customers, slashing 20% off flights on all 30 routes available from Vienna, for new bookings done until midnight today, Thursday 14 June.
With currently more than 33 flights departing from Vienna every week, the airline offers fares from as little as 19.99 EUR on wizzair.com to Austrian passengers and their visitors. This year more than half a million seats are already on sale from/to Vienna airport on WIZZ flights, bringing new affordable travel opportunities, contributing to the local economy, stimulating tourism, while strengthening business partnerships between the European countries

Commitment to Austria
The base establishment at Vienna represents a major investment in Austria by WIZZ, creating more than 200 direct jobs with the airline by 2019.
With a total investment of $ 570 million***, in the upcoming 9 months the airline will continue to increase its operations at Vienna International Airport to become the second largest carrier in Austria in 2019 with a local fleet of 5 new Airbus aircraft, operating a network of 30 routes from Vienna to 22 countries and offering in total more than 2.2 million seats/ year.
Expanding its operations, Wizz Air’s local team in Vienna will continuously increase, the next recruitment sessions being scheduled on 21 June in Vienna.
