Govt allocates HUF 46bn for nature preservation in 2014-2020 funding period
Budapest, August 1 (MTI) – Hungary’s government has decided to allocate 46 billion forints (EUR 150m) in funding for nature preservation during the 2014-2020 European Union funding period, state secretary for the environment Zsolt V. Nemeth said at a press conference in Szoce, western Hungary, on Saturday.
In the 2007-2013 funding period, the allocation for nature preservation and tourism developments came to 38 billion forints, Nemeth said.
He added that Hungary’s ten national parks have a combined area of about 300,000 hectares and now draw almost 1.5 million visitors a year.
