French football player Loic Nego to become Hungarian citizen

According to hvg.hu, Hungarian town Székesfehérvár’s MOL Vidi FC player will become an official member of the Hungarian National Football Team and also will be given a Hungarian citizenship.

This is not the first time a foreign sportsman and sportswoman are given a Hungarian citizenship. American Olympic silver medalist John Henry became a Hungarian citizen this October. In 2016, the 29-year-old basketball player of Uniqa, Sopron Yvonne Turner, also took the oath of Hungarian citizenship and became a permanent member of the basketball team.

The French player’s issuing of a Hungarian citizenship was reported to have been requested, and MOL Vidi’s player will take the oath of Hungarian citizenship soon.

Loic Nego, born on 15 January 1991, is a French football player. He officially joined Roma on a five-year contract following the conclusion of the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. His team won the European Youth Championship and became bronze medalist at the World Championship. Of Guadeloupean origin, Nego plays as right back defender and also as a wing-back on the same side.

After playing for Újpest FC, he joined MOL Vidi FC in 2015 as a defender. He played in 12 football games, shot two goals and had three goal-passes.
