Zsanett Lakatos wins gold medal in 2015 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships

Zsanett Lakatos won gold medal in 2015 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships in women’s C-1 on Friday’s opening day in Győr. The silver medal also went to a Hungarian athlete, Kincső Takács. Lakatos’ historic victory is all the more important because women’s canoe is included in Marathon World Cup program the first time.

No one threatened Lakatos’ victory; one and a half hours after the start she reached the finish line first; followed by Takács nearly five minutes later; while the bronze medal went to Marine Sansinena of France.
