Survey says majority satisfied with police handling of migrants
Budapest, September 25 (MTI) – The overwhelming majority of Hungarians are satisfied with work carried out by police in connection with the migrant crisis, according to a survey by the Nezopont Institute.
Almost 80 percent of respondents to the survey carried out between Sept. 19 and 24 said they were satisfied by police handling of migrants, the institute’s director, Csaba Fodor, told public television’s news channel M1 on Friday.
He said that perceptions of police reaction to attacks by migrants at the Roszke border station, in southern, Hungary “are clearly part of that”.
He added that it was unsurprising that responses to the issue were not divided across party support fault lines, and left-wing supporters also viewed police work positively.
