Dominik Szoboszlai – is the young football talent ready for a transfer this summer?
Goal.com, one of the biggest football websites in the world, published its well-respected ‘NxGn 2019 top 50 wonderkids in football’ on the 18th of March. One Hungarian player was on the list, Red Bull Salzburg player, Dominik Szoboszlai. After signing professional terms with Red Bull Salzburg last year, the Hungarian central midfielder became the first player born in the 2000’s to be added to the club’s senior squad.
Below you can watch his goals, skills and assists:
The young player was purchased from Videoton in 2017; a transfer fee of €500.000 was involved. Now, it looks like the 18-year old is ready for a move to a bigger team and any potential parties will have to pay a lot more than what Salzburg paid in 2017. According to Sportmediaset, Red Bull currently values the player at €10 million. The question is: what club would be a good fit for Dominik?
According to juvefc.com, his next home base will the Italian peninsula. It appears Juventus and Inter are interested in adding the young talent to their squad. However, any team wanting to make an offer on the player will need to move fast as reports suggest that Bayern Munich and Arsenal were recently spotted scouting the youngster.
There will be major changes coming to the Bayern Munich squad this summer, as several of their first team players are retiring. Therefore, Die Roten are monitoring numerous young players across Europe to help rejuvenate their ageing squad and want to build a team prepared for the future. Szoboszlai is one of the many potential new players joining Bayern this summer.
Arsenal are also said to be in the running to sign the player and could look to rival the interested parties for his signature. Though Arsenal’s priorities might be in the defense, as analysts have suggested Arsenal has a lot of talent going forward, they should be focusing on bringing in defensive players not attacking players.
Or is he going to stay at Salzburg one year longer? The young midfielder signed a new long-term contract with Salzburg last January, binding him to the club till 31 May 2021. Though if enough money is offered, Salzburg might be persuaded to let their wonderkid go.
