Jamie Oliver to open a restaurant in Budapest
Jamie Oliver is going to open his next Jamie’s Italian in Budapest in the Buda Castle – writes Index. The brand is introduced to Hungary by Zoltán Roy Zsidai, owner of multiple restaurants.
According to Index, Hungary is the third European country to open a Jamie’s Italian; the restaurant will be introduced by Zoltán Roy Zsidai, owner of Spíler and ÉS.
The restaurant will open next spring in the Buda Castle, where the Hadik Café used to be. It is most likely that Jamie Oliver himself will be present at the opening ceremony.
The restaurant’s interior is designed by Jamie’s interior architects, and every ingredient used by the kitchen has to be GMO free, which is a relatively easy thing to do in Hungary.
Zoltán Roy Zsidai says that the strict rules are a great opportunity for the Hungarian producers and suppliers as well to further develop their methods and products. The restaurant will only be able to use Jamie’s recipes, and costumers can order á la carte or the daily menus.
Zsidai hopes that Jamie’s Italian will bring many Hungarians back home who are currently working in Jamie’s restaurants in London. Besides, Zsidai is also planning to introduce Jamie’s school lunch program, called Feed me Better to Hungary.
