Berta was born in 1995. She is living in London, UK. She has a Graphic Communication Design degree from Central Saint Martins. According to her website; her work is created “through an amalgamation of analogue and digital techniques, mainly exploring the notion of identity formation and female sexuality in relation to consumerist culture.
As an artist, she is fascinated by “human behavioural patterns and emotions”. Her creative process relies heavily on observation. Her primary focus is on “character design and publication design, with a growing interest in branding and animation.”
The Illustrator – 100 Best From Around The World
The 600-pages-long book comes out this August, but it is available for pre-order online. The book includes an introduction and foreword by editors Julius Wiedemann and Steven Heller, 600 pages of brilliantly reproduced works, a biography for each artist detailing their background, philosophy, motivations, and contact details, an index of illustration agencies.
Taschen writes about the book in a nutshell:
“Steven Heller and Julius Wiedemann [editors] present a snapshot of ‘the new golden age of illustration,’ rounding up 100 of today’s most talented artists across the urban, the colourful, and the figurative …
This book celebrates the sheer quality, diversity, intensity, comedy, vivacity, and exceptionality of the work being created by illustrators right now. From veteran artists to up-and-coming stars, the 100 artists in this collection are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, but they represent a compelling snapshot of the styles, techniques, and use of colour by artists across the world.”
