Further developments can be expected near the River Danube. From the Gubacsi Bridge all the way to the Soroksár border, a continuous promenade will be built. It will offer a closer contact to the water, with the addition of picnic spots, footpaths along the river, as well as piers.
PestBuda revealed the local authorities’ plans of building a 900-metre-long promenade along the River Danube, excellent for strolls. The idea first surfaced in 2018. Since then, locals have been involved in the process and could express their opinions regarding the project.
At the moment, the area in question is divided by fences. The plans involve removing the fences and creating an up to 900-metre-long path that continues along the River Danube. It will also be much more accessible.
To improve the experience even more, those behind the project want to offer experiences really close to the water. So, they plan to create ‘water promenades’ that venture out from the promenade on the shore onto the water, then circle back to the promenade a few metres later.
