This is why Will Smith loves Budapest <3
The Hollywood star, Will Smith, fell in love with Budapest, after promoting his new film Gemini Man in the Hungarian capital. Within the framework of a press conference, the world-famous actor revealed why he loves Budapest so much.
Last Tuesday, Will Smith visited Budapest – along with Ang Lee film director and Jerry Bruckheimer producer – to promote his new film “Gemini Man”, that will premiere on 10th October.
The Hollywood star celebrated his 51st birthday in the Hungarian capital; he spent the entire day with his fans. He was moved almost to tears on the red carpet at Buda Castle when a fan started to sing “Happy Birthday”; which was followed by a fantastic party at the Basilica.
The Hollywood actor revealed to the Hungarian journal Lokál what he loves the most about Budapest.
“This city is like a secret jewel – beautiful and powerful! It is a wonderful mix of its thousand-year-long history and the modern spirit that pulsates in it nowadays.”
“Thankfully, I could enjoy its hospitality for a long time. I am glad that my family could also experience this – we found the perfect programs, experiences in Budapest -; and when they left, with the crew we tried the best restaurants, clubs and could see all the colours of the city. I loved it! Last year was the first time when I came to Budapest for a film shoot; since then, I have visited the city three times and fell in love with it” – revealed Will Smith to Lokál.
The actor was trying hard to pick up the Hungarian language – the word “Hunyadvára” is successfully pronounced in the film; however, he gave up on learning further expressions. “I swear, I was trying so hard, but Hungarian is so different from other languages that words do not come to my mind” – he laughed.
At the end of the press conference, he highlighted once again that he loves Budapest and hopes to return soon to the Hungarian capital.
