Hungary ranked highest in FIFA world rankings since 1993
Budapest, November 3 (MTI) – Hungary advanced 13 notches from 33rd to 20th place in the latest FIFA soccer world rankings published on Wednesday.
This is the highest place for Hungary’s national eleven to occupy since FIFA published its first rankings in 1993.
The team’s latest rise can be attributed to recent victories in Euro 2016 playoffs against Norway (1:0, 2:1), enabling the national eleven to participate in a major soccer tournament for the first time since the 1986 world championship.
