Hungary might become popular again among Russian tourists
According to Magyar Idők, the Russian interest for Hungarian touristic events has grown significantly in the past few weeks, reports vg.hu.
The newspaper cites different hotels as sources, and states that Russian tourists have been avoiding Egypt and Turkey for some time now and are more careful in choosing a holiday destination, due to the terrorist threat, that seems to reshape international tourism as well.
Ákos Niklai, president of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (MSZÉSZ) said that although the flow of foreign tourists has come to a halt, thanks to the government’s fast reaction and the collaboration of the branch, this change in the world tourism pattern did not shake the Hungarian tourism that much.
The president added that the statistics also show that domestic tourism has grown as well, and based on the bookings, more and more Hungarians choose to spend their winter holidays within the border.
