Norbert Michelisz among the 50 best car racers in the world

The Hungarian champion of the World Touring Car Cup overtook many well-known and successful racers on the list.

Autosport.com named Norbert Michelisz among the 50 best racers in the world, reports Szeretlek Magyarország.

Michelisz is at the 44^th place on the list of the renowned auto sports journal, and it’s his first time to be listed as well.

He is listed before Forma-1 racer, Pierre Gasly and F3 champion Robert Shwartzman as well as Super GT champion Kenta Yamashita and his own rival in WTCR Esteban Guerrierit.

The journal details the achievements of Michelisz in the World Touring Car Cup; he won five races out of 30 and got on the podium in an additional five instances. He was the fastest in 4 qualifying races. He received the champion title at the last race of the season.

This was his tenth season in WTCC, and he managed to win at least one race in every season previously.

Before embarking on his journey in touring car racing, he used to race only on simulators.

The Hungarian racer earned the full support of BRC and Hyundai at the WTCC, he won more races than anyone so this season was his most successful yet. Michelisz was put on the top 50 list because he is severely underrated and his achievements are recognised this way.
