Law enforcement sector to receive 5 percent pay rise in 2016
Budapest, December 29 (MTI) – Law enforcement employees will receive a 5 percent pay rise as of January 2016, on top of an average 30 percent increase they received in July this year, a deputy state secretary of the interior ministry said on Tuesday.
Salaries in the sector will continue to be raised by altogether 50 percent by 2019 allowed by a five percent annual increase during the period, Andras Zsinka told a press conference.
The pay hike is part and parcel of the law enforcement career model scheme, which also includes a home building allowance and insurance bonuses, he said.
The budget earmarked for the pay hike is 93 billion forints (EUR 296m), he added.
An additional 8 billion forints have been set aside for performance-related pays allowed under Hungary’s new law pertaining to law enforcement workers, Zsinka said.
