Huge investments at Balaton Airport: international flights to be introduced
The airport of Lake Balaton next to Hévíz- which was nominated European Best Destination in 2020 – soon gets a significant infrastructural investment and a pilot school as well.

Magyar Építők reported that the last news about investments at the airport arrived in October which stated that a brand-new four-lined road would connect Budapest and the airport in the direction and connection to Zalaegerszeg. Before this, during spring season it was also announced that a pilot school would be built as part of the airport with the collaboration of Norwegian companies.
In recent days, Gábor Papp the major of Hévíz announced that from state source a 6,6 billion HUF (19 million EUR) investment process would start soon at the airport.
With the help of Scandinavian companies, the pilot school would include accommodation for students, several classrooms and two hangars with aeroplane simulators alongside 17 smaller vehicles to practice flying with.
The major added that within two years, the airport would schedule flights to London, Frankfurt, Tel-Aviv, and Norway.
Meanwhile, the Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest inaugurated a pier to serve low-fare airline passengers that will gradually be expanded in an 8.5 billion forint (EUR 25.5m) investment. The 5,500sqm, climate-controlled structure has a concession area, three large washrooms and a smoking area.
